In 2021 Zjwan M.I. Housein earned her PhD degree in MOLECULAR PHYSIOLOGY at Salahaddin University-Erbil, Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq and published her work in Scientific Reports (PMID: 33510426) from the publisher Nature, which is one of the highest cited journals in the world ).

Zjwan Housein received her master’s degree in BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands, wherein she specialized in two different research field. The first sub-specialization was in HUMAN PATHOBIOLOGY with a focus on chromatin remodeling of human spermatids, while she performed research in TOXICOLOGY at Imperial College London in UK, focusing on mechanism of action of histone acetylation after exposure to heavy metals, both projects led to a high impact publication (PMID: 23213436 and PMID: 25574600)

With over Ten years of experience as lecturer at Erbil polytechnic University, Kurdistan-Iraq, she is teaching undergraduate medical laboratory students in Theoretical as well Practical subjects including Human Biology, Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Endocrinology, Human Genetics and Molecular Biology. Besides She is involved in many research projects resulting in different publications (PMID: 35566271, PMID: 33507690, PMID: 35225473) and one review ( PMID: 35616143) that is published in high cited journal and some other manuscripts are in peer review process.

She supervised her first Master student (Danya Auni) and she fished her project in December 2022 with an honor degree (excellent) and published the results in a Scopus Journal (Q3).
