Sarakot A. Hasan is a Lecturer at Erbil Polytechnic University; he joined the University on 2004, and since then, he works as an academic staff lecturing in Structures, Reinforced Concrete Design, Finite Element Analysis, Bridge Engineering and Civil Engineering Computer Applications.

Sarakot A. Hasan earned his PhD in Structures from Nottingham University in 2012, MSc in Structures from Salahuddin University 1994, and BSc in Civil Engineering from Salahuddin University 1991.

From 1994 – 2000, he worked as a Assistant lecturer at the Civil Engineering department/Salahuddin University, later, he worked as a Civil Design Engineer in UNDP-enrp for the period between 2000-2003.

Through these years, he published papers in the field of Finite Element, Precast Structures and Seismic Provisions, in addition of working as a Structural Designer Engineer for many local building projects in Erbil City.
