Biography

I attended the College of Science at Salahaddin University in Erbil and graduated in 2004 with a BSc in Biological Science.

In July 2007, I travelled to India to pursue my postgraduate studies on bacteria-phage interactions at Savitribai Phule Pune University. After receiving my MSc in Microbiology in February 2010, I returned to Shaqlawa, where I was appointed Head of the Nursing Department at Shaqlawa Technical Institute.

In April 2012, I was awarded an HCDP scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education, KRG, to undertake my PhD at one of the world's top universities. In September 2012, I travelled to the United Kingdom to begin my PhD in the Evolutionary Ecology of Infectious Diseases at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK. I completed my PhD studies in December 2015 and subsequently worked as a research associate at the University of Nottingham.

In August 2016, I returned to Kurdistan, where I have since been employed as a lecturer and researcher at Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU). Additionally, I serve as the Nuclear Medicine Manager at Medya Diagnostic Center (MDC) in Erbil. MDC is the only medical center in Iraq with a laboratory accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
