Hemin Gaylany Ahmed is an academic staff in Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU) since 2016. Before that, he worked in Directorate of Reconstruction and Housing for Erbil as a civil engineer from 1999 to 2016 (for seventeen years).

He achieved BSc in Civil Engineering Department in University of Salahaddin in 1999, then MSc in Structural Engineering with Materials in Nottingham Trent University, UK (2015).

He is interested in research in designing of Reinforced Concrete Retaining Walls According to EC2 CODES by optimizing it (minimum cost) using Excel Solver add in as a tool and both methods GRG and Evolutionary.
