Dr. Gailan Ismail Hassan/ assistant professor started his academic career in 21, September, 1985. From 12/1985 to 07/1987/Lecturer at Mechanical (Manufacturing) Department / Khan bani Saad Technical Institute/ Foundation of technical Institute-Baghdad-Iraq. From 07/1987 to 2/1989 in Mechanical Dept./Mousl Technical Institute, Responsible of Mechanical workshop. Head of Mechanical Dept in Erbil Technical Institute from 2/1989 to 3/2003/. Worked as chef executive officer (CEO) in Kurdistan Institute for Public Administration (KIPA) from 1/12/ 2004 to 31/3/2005 and continued as project manager in Kurdistan Institute for Public Administration from 1/4/ 2005 to 31/12/2008.

Dean of Erbil Technical Engineering College from 5/2/2011 till 8/11/2015. Director of Curriculum Development in Foundation of Technical Education from 10/5/2008 till 5/2/2011. From 1991 till 2015 working as the Head of Technical Sector at Erbil polytechnic University (EPU). From 1991 to 2022 worked as the Head & Member of Central Scientific Promotion-EPU.  Also from 25/8/2020 working as the Head of Engineering & Technology Specialist Scientific Promotion - EPU. Now a day he is working as assistant professor at Mechanical & Energy Engineering Department / Erbil Technical Engineering College / EPU from 9/11/2015 till now. He is interested in workshop technology (metal cutting, casting and welding). Research interests include production engineering and all subject of manufacturing process.

From 8/2/2021 to 13.5.2023 worked as Editor-in Chief of Erbil Polytechnic Journal for Natural Sciences
