I graduated from department of Civil Engineering, Sallahadin University in 1992. I worked for a while then moved back to the United States. In 2008, I received my MSCE from Portland State University in the state of Oregon.
In 1990s I worked in the projects funded by none governmental organizations in reconstruction of villages in Kurdistan.
After moving to USA, it took some time to get back to civil engineering jobs. Prior to this I worked as a programmer for Rejuvenation, Inc. in Portland, Oregon.
While attending school for masters, I started working for Miller Consulting Engineering in Portland, OR. Mainly in residential designs.
late 2007 I started working for KPFF consulting Engineers in Portland, OR. I worked in different kind of projects such as Bridges, Buildings and used different structural material such as concrete, Steel, Timber and cold formed steel.
In 2011 I moved back to Kurdistan and started teaching at EPU until 2017. While I was off from university for more than two years I worked as bridge designer for department of transportation in Nashville , TN.
Now, I am back to teaching at EPU in Erbil.
My main interest in structural engineering is displacement based seismic design in bridges and Lateral design of tall buildings.
